Getting Here
If you have never been to the UCSD campus, you will want to allow yourself about a half an hour to find parking, find the shuttles, and walk to the building.
Driving Directions
From the 5 North, take the Genesee Exit
Turn Right, heading west on Genesee
Turn Left at North Torrey Pines Road
Turn Left into the UCSD Campus at North Point Drive
Go straight to the information booth to buy your parking permit
From the 5 South, take the Genesee Exit
Turn Left, heading west on Genesee
Turn Left at North Torrey Pines Road
Turn Left into the UCSD Campus at North Point Drive
Go straight to the information booth to buy your parking permit
Parking
If you are planning on driving to campus, parking will cost $6/day. Parking fills up quickly on campus so make sure you plan your time accordingly. We suggest parking in lots P357, P356 or P355. These lots are located on Scholars Road. These are large lots with shuttle stops close by. For more information about parking on the UCSD campus, please visit the USCD parking website.
Buying Permits
You can buy your permit from various kiosks around campus. We suggest the Northpoint Visitor Information Center. This kiosk is located on Northpoint drive which is one of the entrances into campus, and near the parking lots mentioned above.
Or you can buy your permit online from the UCSD Bookstore.
UCSD Campus Shuttle
UCSD runs a Campus Loop Shuttle around campus. Shuttles run about every 10 minutes and travel in both directions. The stop closest to the Calit2 building is the Warren Apartments stop. From the parking areas mentioned above, you will want to get on the Clockwise Campus Loop Shuttle and stay on for 3 stops.
After getting off the shuttle, walk up the path to your right. You will see 3 buildings to your right. In the middle is a giant bear rock sculpture. The Calit2 building is to the left of the bear.
